Anne Sesler brings more than twenty years’ experience in public affairs consulting to Government Strategies Group, LLC. Anne works with local elected officials, state legislators, reporters and community leaders on behalf of corporate and non-profit clients.

Anne has provided public affairs and government affairs assistance to clients over the years ranging from developing community outreach and engagement strategies; conducting media relations; advocating clients’ positions with legislative and administrative officials; building grassroots support for projects; and conducting communications with stakeholders. She has managed and supported several community-based task forces including the Cultural Facilities Task Force, Charter Review Task Force and Great Parks of Hamilton County Task Force.

Anne launched her public affairs consulting business in 2001 and has provided political counsel for several state and local campaigns including Issue 44 (expand preschool and strengthen Cincinnati Public Schools) Ohio Jobs and Growth (Casino ballot initiative), United for Jobs and Ohio’s Future (Third Frontier), David Pepper for Auditor, Ohio Issue 1: Ohio Issue 3: No on 9: Cincinnatians for Progress, and Issue 27: a county-wide public safety initiative.

Anne moved to Cincinnati in 1997 and joined Northlich Public Relations. She served as an account supervisor, responsible for building community and thought leader support for clients including High Schools That Work, Microsoft Corp, the Cincinnati Home Ownership Center and the Ohio Tobacco Control Foundation.

Anne came to Cincinnati from Washington, D.C. where she served as Director of External Relations for the Center for National Policy, responsible for policy briefings and media forums for members of Congress and White House officials. She served as a campaign aide for John H. Glenn’s final US Senate campaign and then as a legislative aide in his Senate office. Anne began her career in Ohio state government, working in the communications offices of the Governor and State Treasurer.

Anne received her Bachelor of Arts in political science from The Ohio State University. She is a member of the Lunken Airport Advisory Board, the Cincinnati Charter Review Task Force, the Cincinnati Democratic Committee (Co-Chair), the Hamilton County Democratic Party Executive Committee, member of the Chamber’s WE Lead Class of 2013, a volunteer tutor at Clark Montessori and serves on the board of the Mt. Lookout Community Council. Anne resides in Mt. Lookout with her husband Bryan McCleary and their two children.
